Yeah, sometimes my training montages get a little out of control.
So, at the end of the month I will be attending the
Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators Winter Conference in New York City. Hoping to make some connections and get some handy-dandy advice for conquering the children's book market.
However, the main event for me will be the
private portfolio exhibition where 200 invited art directors, editors and agents from the children's publishing houses in New York will be able to check out my work. On top of that, there will be prizes for the best portfolios (including private meetings with several NY art directors arranged by the SCBWI). This could be my big chance to really break into children's books (beyond my Nick work anyway), so I'm going for it with gusto!
Wish me luck!
